Tiny Tots Toy Library
Tiny Tots Toy Library is a brand new toy library opening in February 2006 at Duke Street Evangelical Church thanks to a generous grant from BBC's Children in Need. The library will be open every Tuesday morning from 10am until noon to coincide with the local Parents and Tots Group which meets in the church hall.
The library aims to supply good quality toys to help parents and carers with children 5 and under as well as offering a service to other groups such as mums and tots groups, charities working with children as well as nurseries. In the short term the library will start small and grow as the demand dictates. The long term aims also include supplying a good selection of educational toys as well as toys suitable for children with learning disabilities.
Membership for Tiny Tots will cost a small charge after which members will be allowed to hire items for two weeks at a time. If you would like more information or would like to pre-register please contact 01604 635535 or email tinytots@dukest.org.uk
Agape Basket
The Agape Basket is a very simple but important ministry within Duke Street. Each week members of Duke Street donate items of tinned food to a basket inth church which is distributed to a number of local charities such as the Northampton Soup Kitchen or the Woman's Refuge as well as individuals with major needs. The Agape Basket also acts as a clearing system for items that people donate towards charity. At Christmas this includes collecting toys for children with needs in the area (usually donated to Nene Valley Woman's Refuge).
